Surveillance of Veterinary Consumption Data Registry according to the German Pharmaceutical Act

From January 01, 2011 on pharmaceutical companies and wholesalers are obliged to record the annual distribution of certain veterinary medicinal products and to communicate the total amount to the federal authorities. The total amount is specified by national authorisation number and counted by packages or total amount of product weight or units respectively.

The declaration is mandatory for veterinary medicinal products containing the following active ingredients:

  • antimicrobial substances
  • substances which are listed in one of the annexes of the "Verordnung über Stoffe mit pharmakologischer Wirkung" (Ordinance for Substances with pharmacological effects).

Every pharmaceutical company and wholesaler regardless of nationality is obliged to record and communicate these data indicating who sold any of these products to a veterinary surgery based on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The application is currently only accessible in German language. Please refer to our German website

If you have questions to notification and registry please refer to the Helpdesk PharmNet.Bund.
